Welcome to sabrineinthecity.com!

If you haven’t noticed yet, this is my new blog. Thanks for visiting!

Stop by my about me page if you haven’t already to get to know me a little more.

Currently I am up north in Washington for a few months with my husband and our fur babies. Luckily, I own a business that allows me to work from home, so it doesn’t matter where I am, but it doesn’t mean that I can stop working. Being your own boss and working from home can actually be more difficult because you don’t have anyone to make sure you are staying on track or telling you what to do… but on the flip side, those are also the best things about being your own boss and working from home! (More on this later…)

That being said, I had the idea to restart my personal brand and blog at the end of last year. Of course, running a business, being a wife, fur-mom, and trying to have a personal life much less a personal blog or brand is difficult. So, the idea was in my mind, but I was hesitant to take the leap on another “project”… which in reality is another full-time responsibility and another baby, if you will. I was focused on two events that I was throwing in Miami, one for Naturally Beautiful, and another for my client, Aunt Jackie’s Curls and Coils, so I had little time to think about starting a new project. Did I mention Naturally Beautiful is a one woman show? But, like most things that you really want in life, the thought couldn’t leave my mind.

“Why not me?”, I said to myself.

“Why not me?”, I read in Brittany Hennesey’s Influencer.

So many of the women I look up to don’t just have one title. They run multiple businesses and wear a multitude of hats. Women like Oprah, J.K. Rowling, and Drew Barrymore (all three of which are my childhood heroes…seriously). And other businesswomen who I look up to that I’ve had the pleasure of working with like Cashmere Nicole of Beauty Bakerie and Mahisha Dellinger of Curls. All of these women embody literally everything I value… self-made, strong, empowering, successful businesswomen. And so, I took the leap once again and decided to launch sabrineinthecity.com.

The next step was to create a new website/blog, take new pictures, and create content. I could have started a blog using my old pictures but I wanted to take updated photos for the main pictures on the website to reflect who I am now – my style, hair, etc… I have a few more photoshoots coming up, so be on the lookout for those!

As for my blog, I’m happy with the way it looks now, but by the time I launch I might want to change the whole theme layout (#geminiproblems). I also could have actually hired someone to help create a blog/website for me…but there’s something about learning how to do something that makes me feel more empowered. I like to be in control so creating a website on my own gives me the freedom to create what I want and be able to change it without asking anyone else for help.

Have you started a blog before? What made you decide to start one? Comment below!

Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed!
